What is the difference between a defoamer and an air-entraining agent? +

The functions of a defoamer and an air-entraining agent are completely opposite. The defoamer eliminates and suppresses harmful large bubbles in concrete, improving concrete density and strength. The air-entraining agent introduces large numbers of tiny, stable, closed bubbles, improving freeze-thaw resistance and workability. The two can be used together: the air-entraining agent introduces beneficial micro-bubbles, and the defoamer eliminates harmful large bubbles, jointly improving concrete performance.

What is the recommended dosage of the defoamer? +

The recommended dosage of powder defoamer is 0.05%-0.3% of cementitious material; the recommended dosage of liquid defoamer is 0.1%-0.5% (calculated by solid content). The specific dosage should be determined by testing according to concrete mix proportion, water reducer type, construction process, and bubble severity. Too little dosage results in insignificant defoaming effect; too much dosage may affect concrete air content and strength.

How to choose between powder and liquid defoamer? +

Powder defoamer is convenient for long-distance transportation and long-term storage. It needs to be pre-mixed evenly with other powder materials and is suitable for dry-mix mortar, precast component plants, and other scenarios. Liquid defoamer is easy to use and accurately metered, can be added directly to mixing water, and is suitable for ready-mixed concrete batching plants and customers with storage conditions. The defoaming effects of the two are basically the same, and the choice can be made according to the customer's specific usage conditions.

Can you provide samples? +

Yes. We provide 1-2 kg samples free of charge for customer testing. The sample freight is borne by the customer. Liquid samples can be provided in 5 kg drums.

What is the minimum order quantity? +

The minimum order quantity for regular products is 1 ton. Small trial orders are supported. Large orders (over 100 tons) can enjoy preferential prices.
